Crows - Dartford Folk Club's 53rd Birthday!

Crows are a distinguished English folk band whose history dates back to the late 1970s. Originally active between 1978 and 1988, the group established a strong reputation for accomplished musicianship, finely arranged material and distinctive four-part vocal harmony.

The current line-up brings together original members Mick Ryan and Dave Bordewey with Pete Harris and Paul Downes, all highly experienced and respected performers within the folk tradition. Their combined instrumentation includes fiddle, guitars, bouzouki, banjo and mando-cello, providing a rich and varied setting for the band’s vocal arrangements.

Crows released their self-titled debut album in 1981, followed by No Bones or Grease in 1986. Their repertoire has always drawn on a broad range of sources, combining traditional English and international folk song with contemporary writing and original material.
