Although not from a musical family and with no formal choir background, John has been playing guitar, writing songs and singing since the age of ten. As well as performing solo, he has been a member of the Dartford Folk Massif since 2018, performing at a variety of venues across Kent and the South East.

Having been a regular at Dartford Folk Club for many years and a familiar face performing floor spots, he was invited to join the Club's team of resident performers in 2021. He now enjoys introducing and supporting the many outstanding artists who appear at the Club.

To mark one of the Club's anniversaries, John wrote the song We've Been Singing, celebrating the spirit and community of Dartford Folk Club.
