James and Alison are longstanding members of Dartford Folk Club and have been listening to, playing, and enjoying music together for many years.

James has been playing the mouth organ since the age of 11, when his older brother bought him one in the hope that it would stop his constant talking... the ploy didn't work, but the mouth organ certainly did! Since then, music has remained a lifelong passion.

Over the years, James has played harmonica with The Dartford Ramblers folk group and performed Bass Harmonica with the harmonica band Four in Accord.

Alison is an accomplished guitarist and mandolin player and has been a member of Native Grass, alongside Lesley, George and Gill, for a number of years. She has a particular love of American roots music, traditional folk songs, and classic songs from the early twentieth century.
